Welcome to Botshelo Hospice official website - where we are commited to support and care for needy families who in most cases require help to care for the terminally ill patients and to focus on the reduction of the rate of HIV and AIDS.
Botshelo Hospice is designed to give the terminally ill patients an opportunity to die in dignity and with all the respect they deserve.Botshelo Hospice is a project based within the community of Itsoseng to provide services to the community and surrounding areas.
The establishment of this project was prompted by the observation and that under-privileged communities with people suffering from HIV/AIDS and other terminal illnesses are neglected. In many instances, family members who are expected to look after their patients are employed and have to be away from home during the day. Because of poor socio-economic conditions, these family members cannot give up their jobs to provide with full time nursing care to their Loved Ones. Hence, during the day the patient is left without food and care. Sometimes they do not even have energy to take their medication as required. In some instances ,patients are left in the care of young children who find themselves exposed to the risk of contracting HIV due to lack of knowledge and because they want to help.
